Physical therapy is the art and science of the assessment of, interventions for, and prevention of impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities related to movement, function, and health. This is achieved in a variety of ways depending on the context of the need.
Chronic pain is a multi-faceted syndrome affecting a person's way of life, whereas, the pain controls the person and lifestyle, behavior and functioning, as well as, the people around him/her.
Biofeedback & Relaxation Training has been shown to significantly improve patients' ability to manage their chronic pain and insomnia (National Institute of Health, 1995). This type of behavioral medicine uses a physiological monitor and relaxation techniques to increase a patient's control over basic physiology (breathing, heart rate, temperature, skin resistance, etc.), thus helping them to decrease pain.
The center for Neuromodulation was founded by Dr. Clayton Varga, a nationally recognized leader in the field for 20yrs. The center focuses on the use of implanted nuerostimulators and medication infusion pumps to decrease and manage chronic pain when all lesser methods have failed.

ITB Therapy is a treatment that delivers a special form of the drug baclofen, Lioresal Intrathecal, directly to the fluid around the spinal cord. In clinical literature, people have reported that ITB Therapy has helped them to be more independent, allowing them to feed or dress themselves, sit more comfortably, or transfer more easily. In addition, caregivers reported that care is easier with ITB Therapy.
Electromyography (EMG) is a test that is used to record the electrical activity of muscles. An EMG is a graphic record of the study, and can also be referred to as a myogram. When muscles are active, they produce an electrical current. This current is usually proportional to the level of the muscle activity.
