Clayton A. Varga MD, MHSM

Dr. Varga has been a well recognized leader in the field of Pain Management for two decades. Dr Varga completed his training in Anesthesiology and a Fellowship in Pain Management at the UCLA School of Medicine. He subsequently became director of Pain Management at the USC School of Medicine, the Norris Cancer Center and the City of Hope prior the founding the Pasadena Rehabilitation Institute in 1990. He is the author of numerous articles and book chapters and has lectured extensively in the US, Asia and Europe.

Dr. Varga has a special interest in the use of implanted devices for the treatment of chronic pain. He has participated in the development of implanted infusion pumps and neural stimulators for three major manufacturers. He has been involved in numerous research and development projects with these devices and authored the first report of mixing local anesthetic agents into implanted infusion devices for the outpatient treatment of chronic pain in 1989.
